This application for diagnosis of periodontal diseases is based on decision‐making algorithms for clinical practice and education published by (Tonetti and Sanz 2019) for the implementation of the 2017 World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri‐Implant Diseases and Conditions.
Before using this application, the user should have periodontal parameters from recent full comprehensive periodontal examination along with diagnostic quality radiographs for radiographic bone loss (RBL) and previous records of periodontal examination (if available). The necessary periodontal parameters are: Clinical attachment loss (CAL); Probing pocket depth (PPD); Bleeding on probing (BOP); Furcation involvement; Mobility and Number of teeth lost due to periodontal disease.
